San Antonio Joint Program Management Office (SAJPMO)

Welcome to the website for the San Antonio Joint Program Management Office (SAJPMO). The SAJPMO is an exciting one-of-a-kind organization and we are glad you are visiting us today.

The Joint Program Management Office (JPMO) provides program, project, and construction management for San Antonio's $3 billion BRAC and MILCON program. The organization was formed in 2006 by agreement of the Department of Defense Service Engineer Chiefs. The JPMO was specifically tasked to oversee the surge in local military construction activity created by the 2005 BRAC law, which calls for relocating several operations, training, and administrative missions to San Antonio, as well as consolidating certain missions that already exist at local military installations. Over 200 individuals work in the JPMO, including representatives of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and private sector contractors. The JPMO is also supported by more than 400 personnel from various USACE districts and AFCEE and NAVFAC offices, along with several architectural and engineering firms, and oversees more than 3,500 individuals engaged in construction activities.

A program of this magnitude requires everyone’s support. To foster relationships, the SAJPMO maintains close contact with city and county elected representatives, the City of San Antonio’s Office of Military Affairs, and the local Military Transformation Task Force. The SAJPMO is involved in collaborative efforts with these groups to include disseminating pre-solicitation notices throughout the local contracting industry, participating in public forums to address the impact of construction activities, and organizing informational fairs to assist contractors in preparing bids for upcoming projects.

Take a look around our website. See what construction projects we are preparing for, executing, and projecting for the use of our military, federal employees, and their families. Stop by often, as we will continue to update our site regularly.

We are a team of teams, ready, relevant, and willing; supporting the troops that support us!

Sincerely,
David B. Thomas
Director, Joint Program Management Office
